Palaha cave is located on Niue, one of the world's largest coral islands. Palaha is notable for its limestone formations in varying shades of green and red, colored by the presence of various minerals. Another unique feature of this cave is that it opens wide to a reef flat that runs from the Pacific ocean to the coast. There are multiple stalagmites and stalactites, columns, small rock pools nestled in the fossilized corals, which are filled with water during high tide or by just the sprays coming from waves.
